KERL Baking Class Brings Sweet Success and Generosity to Charity

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, a group of 30 participants led by Khatijah and Faris gathered for an exciting KERL baking class, held with a dual purpose of fostering teamwork and supporting the community. The participants were divided into teams for the first part of the event, with each group tasked with baking cakes. The kitchen quickly became a hub of activity as teams worked together, resulting in 10 beautiful and delicious cakes, each showcasing unique styles and flavors.

After a brief break, participants embarked on individual tasks, focusing on creating a variety of treats including cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. The kitchen filled with the delightful aroma of baked goods, reflecting the dedication and creativity of everyone involved

The highlight came when the 5 best cakes were selected to be donated to charity houses. The remaining 5 cakes were joyfully consumed by the happy participants, who savored their hard work.

The event reached a heartwarming highlight when the five best cakes were selected to be donated to local charity homes. The remaining cakes were enjoyed by the participants, who celebrated their hard work with smiles and laughter. The day concluded with a group photo, capturing the joy, teamwork, and camaraderie shared by all.

Following the baking session, four dedicated KERL members took on a special mission to deliver the cakes, along with cash donations, to five charity houses. The effort raised a total of RM6,500 in donations, sourced from ERL’s staff zakat wakalah contributions, individual donations, and additional funds. This charitable initiative extended the warmth of the day to those in need, reinforcing the spirit of giving.

Special thanks were extended to Puan Noormah, KERL’s Advisor, and to all contributors whose generosity made this event possible.

On behalf of KERL, the committee expressed pride and gratitude for the strong support received, ensuring the success of their community initiatives. With plans underway for an upcoming KERL Indoor Game event in October, the committee looks forward to continued engagement and positive impact in the community.
